6950 XFX vs. HIS

Thread Starter
i'd like a little clarification on these two products. are they any real differences between the two?
are they both capable of the upgrade to the 6970?

things like that. i did a bit of research and the only thing i've found different between the two is the XFX lifetime warranty... is there any real reason i should pick one over the other??

I got XFX one an XFX power supply which apparently dislike each other cause i get horrible coil whine an i dont have a case so unless i have my speakers turned up or headphones on its really annoying just so xfx no good if you got my psu xD

I think my warranty 3 years

Please link to the specific models you are deciding between.

Can't vouch for HIS, but I can vouch against XFX. They're quality is crap, and their warranty service crappier.

Avoid at all costs.

The HIS is significantly cheaper than the XFX right now.

Go for it.

Both cards use the same non-reference PCB. I have a 1gb XFX 6950 with that PCB on another rig of mine and it does unlock as well as has the bios switch. I would just go with whatever you can get for cheapest.

I have a reference XFX 6970 and have no problems with it at all.
