Heatshrink sleeving entire cable?

Thread Starter
First post!

I'd like to say I've been lurking for the past few weeks while I decided on my new rig and its nice to have a site like OCN to refer to. I've learned a lot and gotten a bunch of inspiration from build logs here, but I have a question that I've searched for and not gotten a clear answer.

Can I sleeve a cable entirely in heatshrink? If so, are there any examples around here?

I'd prefer to have a smooth wire over mesh with the look I'm going for.

Cheers!

heatshrink isn't flexible, so it won't look at all good once it's been bent into shape.

You could always try to find wire-sleeving jackets, but I'm not sure if they sell the jacket without wiring in it. :/

Don't do it... it looks UGLY! I did it to my Power/reset sables and they look ugly! Look forward to sleeve them.

I'll recomend to sleeve every cable in the PSU by it self. Yes it is a lot of work, But I think the look of it after wards is very much worth the time and work spent on it.

Just my opinion

I knew there was a reason nobody was doing it. The only thing I can think of now is to heatshrink the whole thing but do some super cable management like you'd see in a datacenter overhead tray, essentially put all of the ugly heatshrinked cables together, but you'd need extensions on almost everything to make them purdy.

Any other ideas to avoid mesh? Can I get some really small ID tubing and route my cables through it? Tubing would be less flexible also, especially that small of an ID.

Yeah I hate seeing the wires themselves too but higher quality sleeving and properly heat shrinking close to the connectors you cant see the wire's at all. so overall if done well it looks great.
