HD Tune Analysis

Thread Starter
My friend has been having some problems with his computer lately, and we've tried pretty much everything in past tests.
I always suspected it was his HDD, and we did some defragmenting and stuff like that, but when we tried HD Tune I just laughed.

So, is the HDD just broken? How can something like this happen, I don't know much about HDDs?

Nothing wrong in the health tab but the benchmark is like, super duper low.
Any ideas?
On a side note, I just noticed one DMA CRC error count on my main HDD, it says Data 1, does this mean that it has only occurred once? Just to know where to look if it occurs again.
Also, doesn't using programs affect the benchmark?

I have two of the WD2500AAKS drives that did the same thing 2 months after the warranty expired on them. Slower than snot, but they still hold data 2 years later. And before you ask, I have already transferred all of the data to new drives and am just waiting to see how long they will hold the data before completely failing.
