Which CPU is better?

Thread Starter
I have two PC's and i was wondering which is better
One is a 2500k and the other is an i5 750 @ 3.7ghz.

Also whats the best program i can use to benchmark the two and see which is actually faster? (not only CPU, also ram, graphics,etc..)

Better system?

System 1:
Core i5 750 @ 3.72 GHZ
p7p55de-pro
XFX 5770
4GB RAM
500w PSU
Antec 300

System 2:
Core i5 2500k @ STOCK
Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3
Diamond 5750
4GB RAM
500w PSU (i think)

the 2500k is far superior and way better for overclocking,
I think 3dmark is the best overall system tester

As others have said 2500k is superior. Give 3dmark 06 a try, its pretty intensive on CPUs.

Ok. Odd beacuse the windows score thing says the 750 is higher. But i've been told that thing is total crap so i dunno.

Ok which mobo is better than? ASUS p7p55de-pro OR Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3
I might have to do a switch then

You wont be able to swap around. The sockets are different and the CPU wont fit on the alternate Mobo.

You didn't list the specs of both systems so pretty hard to comment on which is the better. On paper though the 2500K should definitely be stronger than the i5-750, however other components can make a difference.

"yes i know, but i can switch the mobos" Dont really understand what you mean there. Did you mean buy another mobo to replace the one in your 2500K system or did you mean put the 2500K CPU/Mobo and RAM in the system where the current I5-750 is?

The best improvements you could do for the 2500K system is overclock it and swap the 5770 into it assuming it will fit in the case.

The WEI score which isn't a particularly useful measure of anything is dictated by the lowest performing component.
