For the best idea of the kind of performance you can expect fire up BFBC2 with MSI afterburner running in the background tracking gpu usage, play for a few minutes online and then tab out and check your gpu usage. If you're around 99% most of the time than a cpu upgrade won't help you here, however if you're getting a roller-coaster looking graph on your gpu usage and it never seems to be working at full capacity (cpu bottleneck) you should see gains based on how badly your current cpu is bottlenecking your gpu.
You can track GPU usage in realtime, just tell Afterburner to display GPU usage in the OSD.
I'm not sure playing online is the best idea to evaluate a CPU bottleneck, as other factors come into play, mainly eventual network / server congestion.Edited by tpi2007 - 5/21/11 at 3:18pm
