Confused about which laptop to buy

Hi all, I want to buy a laptop (and it's my first laptop! ). I have no experience whatsoever with buying laptops.
I'll follow the rules and use the preferred format:

What is your maximum budget?
40,000 INR or about 890 USD

What country are you in?
India

What will be the uses of this laptop?
Mostly college stuff and some gaming

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you?
I don't think so

What screen size do you require?
15" minimum

What screen resolution do you require?
I think the 15" laptops all have 1366x768?

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay?
New

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet)
About 3hrs

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings?
Crysis (on medium, if that's possible )
Street Fighter IV
Fallout New Vegas
Batman Arkham Asylum

What operating system do you need? (if any)
I'll be dual booting with Linux and Win7 and I'll most probably repartition and reformat.

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.)
Nope

How much hard drive space do you need?
Nothing below 300 GB

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.)
Well, it should at least have a decent graphics card

Is there anything else we need to know?
I have these laptops in mind:
Dell Inspiron 15R: http://www.dell.com/in/p/inspiron-15...d=inspiron-15r
HP Pavilion Dv6 3127tx: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/in/en...reg_R1002_INEN

Dell one has a Core i5, 4GB RAM and ATI Mobility 550v 1GB
HP one has a Core i3 370m, 3GB RAM and ATI Mobility 5650 1GB

Please advice me which one to choose from these two, and if someone has any other suggestions then please let me know

Here is an Acer that has an i7 but I am not sure if they ship to India.

Acer Aspire 5750G

I would probably go with the Dell though but HP usually has better quality IMO.

I can't find the Acer one anywhere, maybe it's not available in India or something.
I'm curious though, from the two laptops I listed, why would you go for a Dell and not the HP one?

The Dell has an i5 and more RAM. Not really clear on the ATI cards though.

My cousin has this one and it runs Crysis at high settings. I usually buy Acer laptops and I have never had a problem with the laptops or their company. A family member once had to RMA their laptop because of a fan error and their customer service was nice and supportive.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But since I want to be able to play games on it, the graphics card matters alot
Dell's ATI 550v is crap from the benchmarks that I've seen. The HP's 5650 is alot better I've heard.

Thanks for the link but these laptops aren't available in India (bummer ) and a laptop with similar specs would cost a whole lot more here than what newegg is offering
