Midget Ninja Mini-ITX Silent Water Cooled Build - Page 6

Nice work so far.

Does the fact that the Zotac Z68 board having only 4 SATA ports bother you at all? That case screams for 6 SATA ports on the mobo like the H57 model had - especially since your WC solution doesn't use up any of the storage space.

Nice build! That board is just badass. Cool case too.

Only need 4 That's all I'm using on this ASUS board too. I wired up and extra SATA power plug there just in case I need to test or swap another drive in later to do a quick transfer. I would just use the DVD-RW drive plug to connect for temporary.

Thanks! I started taking it apart today for the newegg RMA. haha Hope I don't have to wait too long for the ZOTAC board to come out!

Zotac mini-ITX Z68 motherboards to ship in July

Waiting sucks... I dropped off my side panel and a piece of acrylic with my buddy at the waterjet shop to get cut out. Should be sick when I get this done!

I got my RMA refund from newegg too. Not much else to update. Kinda tired of using my old POS laptop and my media server to get by.

Awesome work! Can't wait to see what else you do to this. For a 'small' case, it sure holds a lot, too! Have you had a chance to try out 460? How's it run?

Thanks! My side panel is at the waterjet shop right now. I told him no rush on it since I'm still waiting on the MB too. Haven't tried the VGA yet. No MB. I'm sure it will be great, cuz my 2XGTX-260 SLI setup did everything I wanted it to and this things blows my old setup away. hehe

Still waiting for release.

I'm new to the forum and have been following your build. I've been interested in zotac z68 boards since I first heard about them and am waiting for their release as well. I have a question regarding the ram for their two m-itx z68 boards. In particular, the max ram supported figure. Regardless of which board, both support up to 16 gb of ram with only two slots. However, I can only find 8 gb of ram (2X4). Am I missing something?

Most likely would have to sacrifice slower speeds in order to get all that ram in those two slots. I sure as heck wouldn't be buying this board if you're building a system that requires 16gb ram. I do a lot of video and audio editing/rendering and quite a bit of gaming as well and never come close to filling up 4gb of ram. I had 8gb on my last system and then RMA'ed half of it after just 3 weeks. haha

Have you seen the other review on the Zotac board?

Its hindered by its poor BIOS, but other than that it seems solid. Hopefully the BIOS will be fixed before release or shortly after, its what the SFF community needs.

Its MAX OC on a 2500K was 4.6Ghz @ 1.424 VCore. Its a little disappointing...
