I'll answer this, since things wandered off and I missed it.
The compactness is great. It makes it really easy to have your mouse and anything else you want in easy reach. It took a day or so to get used to, because the keys are rearranged a bit. But they're rearranged in a way that it was more of a "Wow, that's different, but I can see it being better when I get used to it." rather than a "Wow, why would they put that there?" sort of thing. The Windows key (the skull-and-crossbones for me) up out of the way in the corner is nice and the tilde being at the bottom keeps me from bumping tha.
It is also nice not having to reach as far to have room to move the mouse - definitely a little less strain on my shoulder over time.
The cable is hideous regardless of the LED. I'll probably sleeve mine and the LED is behind my monitor so it is isn't bugging me, but I might get a red one to match the light on my HAF.
You might want to wait until you see the case in person before getting a replacement, unless it will screw you on shipping. I was pleasantly surprised by how it looked, especially brightly lit up. The keys look a little more of a periwinkle to me when they're dim (not my style) and when the lights are off the lettering looks like an ivory or bone, which looks kind of cool with the font and skull.Edited by PrimeBurn - 5/21/11 at 8:10pm
