how is the Coolermaster Silent Gold 1000watt - Page 2

Kingwin's Lazer series didn't use to be anything special but the Lazer Golds are very nice, and the Lazer Platinum are the best units ever seen to date. The LZG units have the same innards as the NZXT and the Rosewill I just mentioned.

Out of the ones I mentioned though, I favor the Sparkle/OCZ (again, same innards except for the capacitors which are of different brands) and the Silverstone.

Personally I would only buy Seasonic and possibly Silverstone out of that list. NZXT, OCS and Sparkle are hardly renowned for their power supplies.

These are the PSU brands I'd recommend, a 1000w from any of these will be excellent:
(no particular order)
- Corsair
- Enermax
- CoolerMaster
- Seasonic
- Antec
- Silverstone

And in regards to your original post, the CM SilentPro gold 1000w is really good. It's dead silent! Modular and incredibly efficient, it runs at over 90% efficiency even at 20% load!

Yeah I just got a 800w Coolermaster Silent gold, and I have to say its fantastic. Its dead silent, and Its pretty darn efficient. I traded up from a corsair and I haze zero regrets.

How can you say "yes" to the NZXT, but "no" to the Kingwin and Rosewill? They all use the same Superflower GoldenGreen platform. And the OCZ and Sparkle (which are both Great Wall) are also good.

The Silent Pro Golds are just OK, and is let down by high +12v ripple. And the NZXT/OCZ/Sparkle PSU's that Shub included in his list are all good units.

It seems to be a brilliant power suply. Gold Efficiency, silent and has around 85A single 12v rail.
