Roccat Kova+ Good mouse?

I already have a Razer Naga molten and very happy how comfortable it is
but i am using it mostly for browsing and wow.
is a Laser DPI5600 mouse
r1wikk.jpg

I was looking for a new mousepad and came across Rocatt sota and i realy like it, it was then i saw Roccat Kova+ on top of it...

You know the feeling you get when you see something you realy like and cant get it out of your mind until you get it...well that feeling

Look Kova+Sota how special realy like this style:
aoqrz9.jpg

Was something special about the design
i then found out it was inspired by Lamborghini Reventon 9v8rqp.jpg and Lamborghini is my dream car

Now i feel like i want to get that mouse and mod it somehow with a lamborghini logo smile.gif

The Price is okey 40 euro... my Naga costed me 79 euro
kova is only 3200 dpi and is optical instead of laser but thats okey for me.

The only drawback for me is that it dont remember color settings
I want to set it on Red or green color but after reboot it always glow in cyan and you have to change the color... that is not good

If this mouse would just remember the color after reboot it would be perfect.

now that mouse an the sota mousepad just rocks.

I already checked out the Kone+ and i dont like it so much as i do with kova
beside kone is bigger i hate Big mouse
Thats why i dont use the CM storm sentinel mouse i got before naga (The latter size is perfect)
maybe Kova is a bit bigger than naga...not sure...but kone+ look fatter

So... should i go for this Kova+sota?

will having to change the color on reboot be very anoying
or is there some trick to make kova remember the colors?

The Kova+ does remember its color settings. It is not really 3200 dpi, more like 800. Unless mine is defective, it starts skipping pixels at 1600 so it's probably doing interpolation. I haven't seen the naga but I'm sure the Kova is smaller. It is very small and light.

Acording to this review
" Plus it never remembers what colour you've set it at. Sure it remembers the dpi setting, the breathing settings, but each time you turn your PC on you get the light blue/cyan colour and have to change it to what you prefer, unless of course you love light blue."

Could it be this has been corrected in Kova+

Kova+ has software and Kova not and make it remember the color so it dont reset to default color upon reboot?

Update:
i was looking at the vortex.net review of kova+ and i see no meantion of color reset on reboot
it might be this was only the case with the first kova
they are also giving kova+ gold which mean it must be a much great mouse over the original kova that went silver
http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/roccat_kova_plus_review,7.html

Btw, im left handed and razer naga work perfect for my hand
and since kova+ is v shaped is made for both left and right handed

Is RMA on roccat that bad?
I read this
"I'm afraid I have to concur, I've seen the chopped Kova photos on ESReality, and another guy was complaining about being on his 7th RMA! I was interested in the ARVO keyboard, but all I can find is complaints about crap feel and it being extremely noisy, and the Taito mousepad I tried was sharp all the way around the edges. It's not good to see that kind of quality on something so basic. Roccat have rapidly earned a reputation for very poor quality and the brand is difficult to recommend. "

PS: remember this was said about kova and not kova+ so not sure if anything changed

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1507883

still the kova+ look amazing so not sure if i should just go for it
since is not my only mouse i problaly have no problem while it rma

I had a roccat kone break on me within a month and they told me to send it back for an RMA. Problem is I am in Canada so to ship it back would cost me nearly $40 for a broken mouse which may break again.

I know I will never be buying a product from them unless they start having retailers in NA since you are basically buying a product with no warranty. They acknowledged the fault in their old mouse by making a new revision and when I pointed that out still refused to send me a new mouse without having sent mine back first. I've never been treated this way by any company from NA so it struck me as odd that they would act this way to someone who basically supported their first product.

What broke on the mouse and was you heavy gaming ?
could it be that yours was kone and the kone+ is better since is revission
so kova+ should be a bitt better on rma than kova.

Roccat is probaly still very popular together with steelseries and razer
There also people that complain a lot razer break easy but i had no problem with their mouse so far

I have the Kone+ and it is a very accurate mouse if you use it on the right pad, gota be on a hard surface, steelseries HD etc.

The mouse itself is great for me but i have 1 complaint,my mouse now has Alopecia !!

The rubberised coating all over the mouse only last 2 months and then it started to wear through:mad:

Mouse now has complete bald spot where my thumb rests just below easy shift button.

I can put this aside though as the software is simply amazing,so many functions and settings, you could not want more configurations.

Somebody mention that the kova skips over a certain dpi.....but what pad did you use it on?! very important to have the right pad, soft material etc is no good at all.

It's 1600dpi native, it should only start skipping pixels above that.

I tried it on both cloth and hard pads and it does the same thing on the razer ironclad, steelseries hd, QcK, roccat taito, my desk, etc. At 3200 dpi, it jump almost consistently 4 pixels by 4. It's quite ridiculous. At 1600, it jumps 2 pixels by 2.
