I had bent pins on my x58 board and it would no longer recognize all of my ram. i rebent them and it was able to recognize all of them again. so far no problems. i say youre fine

You need to ask to talk to a store manager because I don't see how they can deny you a swap so you can get what you actually paid for. You need to get serious! Say I'm not leaving until I get this exchanged or money back. If you have recipt and such, you should be fine. Say you would really rather lose a customer for life than exchange something that came broken? I have never heard of such a thing from any store unless they told you you couldn't before you bought it for some reason. This makes me mad and it's not even my problem! Worst comes to worst you can use a mechanical pencil without the led sticking out to insert the pins in and straighten out without breaking them.

I'm pretty sure that stores cover the first 15 days and after that it is RMA. I think you should be able to exchange because it is a defective product. This is unacceptable...

You could bend the pins back.....but what happens if you break it?....

i hear ya error, i ended up talking to a store manager today too at one of the stores. he came up out of no where when i was checking out and talking to another manager and just said im not getting my money back or getting an exchange in a rather rude tone. i just dont know what to do.

Some pins aren't important and some pins are. Maybe you got lucky... but Linus on youtube showed he had a couple bent pins and the screen wouldn't show up. He broke a pin off on accident, and placed the pin into the socket then set the CPU down on it hoping it woud make contact and it did work. So I'm thinking your fine as there are two options: they could have been pins that aren't essential, or that they are still making contact. So I believe if you had any problems you wouldn't be able to use the computer as the CPU wouldn't be able to function properly. (don't quote me, but I think the unimportant pins are grounds?)

In my experience Fry's has been one of the better places for easy exchanges with any type of issues with defective products. Generally places are wary of exchanging mobos with bent pins since it's pretty much the consumer's fault 95% of the time, but I'd talk to a supervisor or manager and do your best to get it exchanged.

I wouldn't try bending the pins back, I tried that one time and it got even worse. Or, you can try bending it back and then try to return it at Frys and hope they don't notice, which they probably won't if you do it carefully enough.

I would report them somehow. They should not be managers if they are treating customers like garbage and disrespecting them. You should ask them to prove to you that they are correct... like any document stating their policies and such.
