x58 w/ bent pins! - Page 5

Kinda glad there are no good tech shops around me and I only have to deal with newegg. They're so easy to deal with, technically the last card I had to RMA I had overclocked and any cheapo store would just try to screw me with it but the fact is that a mild overclock should not fry the card so newegg doesn't care.

Well yeah, but it's just the way they are treating him is why we are all getting worked up... he most likely is fine if it works, but still should we just ignore the fact that this isn't right? I sure as hell know I wouldn't let myself get walked all over and just forget about it.

They can't prove that it didn't come like that, but it'd be hard to prove to them the opposite I guess. Tricky situation. This is why I only buy motherboards from newegg because they don't ask questions and set the RMA up instantly. It took literally like 3 minutes to set my RMA up on the phone if that.

Don't forget that shipping is still cheaper than tax in almost anything relating to computer and that's if for some reason newegg has as big of a markup as best buy.

If everything works find now, chances are that the bent pins are redundant grounds, and aren't strictly needed.

You can look up the pin layout in Intel's white papers to see what each on does.

As for Fry's, I'd put a cinder block through one of their windows at 3AM.

I don't think we're allowed to advocate that here, but I wouldn't not put a cinder block through one of their windows at 3am.
