(solved) Odd problem: amp isn't passing certain sounds

Not sure how to word this but basically my amp isn't allowing certain 'sounds' to play. For example D12 American Psycho, the line ~25s in "completely discu-usting" is more like "Completely discu--us". Bury Your Dead - Without You ~2:05 "Everyday I try to make this right" the this right part gets distorted as does the latter part of the following 2 "everyday I try to.." lines. (Will find more examples)
The sound just fades out for those parts...

I thought my speakers were going out but it happens when headphones are plugged into my amp too. System is a Genius 2.1 gaming.. blah blah if you need more ask. If I plug my headphones into my pc's ports I don't have any problem.

EDIT: Even though I haven't changed my set up since I moved back home, my switch or the cable is causing the problem. I can figure out this part my-drunken-self. Thanks a/w!
