I think I killed my 2600k - Page 4

Sounds to me like you put 1.38v into offset voltage mode instead of manual voltage that would deffo be the reason for 1.8v+ if you put 1.38v into manual voltage control there's no way it would jump to 1.8v+.

I jumped straight to 4.5ghz when i built this rig i see no point in going to 3.8 or 4ghz first.

If your getting this far I highly doubt your CPU is the problem. I would guess you corrupted your Windows install, or some BIOS setting is different than previously configured, or your motherboard was damaged somehow. Can you try a linux livecd?

Yes it can. Happened to an admin here. Intel even agreed and gave him a new CPU.

I may have messed up my motherboard, as some in this thread have said.. Though I don't know how I could have done that.. =/

Perhaps, since I'm getting the STOP 0x7f it could be my memory fried too?
Maybe I should exchange the memory now too, just to rule that out..

did you try setting your 6g/s controller to ahci as I suggested?? I was getting very similar error and this solved it. And as a diabolical coincidence this happened after a failed overclock which freaked me out. The failed overclock reverted my settings back to defaults i think which was the reason why my ahci setting for my sdd was not there anymore. I dont think youve got a corrupted file/sector or whatever, it is just that your mobo cannot 'see' your c300 ssd. Just a speculation

Dude overclocking is NOT Guaranteed... You already have the the quickest chip available... Before assuming everything is fried.... (wich is unlikely) you have to be methodical and troubleshoot step by step... One weak link in your system is your power supply wattage... I had to upgrade mine from an HX520 becouse it was unstable when overclocking... Since i got an HX750 it is rock solid... but before anything else check all your power connections it is possible your cpu or mobo power connecyions rattled loose... Then test with one dimm of ram etc... run memtest if you can ... I bet ya your cpu power connector is loose...
