Operating system?

Thread Starter
I was wondering if linux 11.04 64 bit or any other version can run all games that come out? I want to get games such as world of warcraft, starcraft 2, and when it comes out star wars the old republic. I was wondering if there is any free or maybe cheap version of linux that can play all games for windows?
I was looking into getting windows 7 ultimate but its very pricey. I also hear that windows XP is very good for gaming, I have a Reinstallation CD service 3 pack, microsoft, windows, XP professional. Could I just use this as an OS? any advice would help, thanks guys i'm really new to this.

you can play games on linux using wine but its not going to support all games, and if it does it might not support them that well, meaning bugs, crashes, etc...

if you play regularly i suggest installing windows rather then linux.

For gaming Windows XP will work better than Linux. It's a sad fact but trying to get Windows games to run on Linux is difficult (most of the time) and in many cases fails.

I use Linux as my main OS and have for a long time. However, when it comes to gaming you pretty much are going to need Windows. I just dual-boot and it solves all such problems.
