Yeah well yesterday i went to install a icon pack that had a self installer (a .bat file) and after i restarted my pc to see if it had installed i got this error message saying "LoginUI.exe could not start because shell32.dll missing" so i put my HDD in my dads computer and downloaded shell32.dll and put it in C:\\windows\\system32\\ and put the harddrive back into my pc and boot now i have the error "The application could not start correctly (0x000007b)" now i cannot access any of the safe modes or my OS and i really dont want to have to start again because i have lots of files on there that i dont want to loose i really need some help.
Giving +Rep to whoever helps my problem.

Have you tried popping in the Windows CD and selecting the repair option? That should restore all settings and whatnot while preserving your data. Be sure to have the drivers ready for reinstallation after it's finished repairing because some drivers could potentially be removed.

OEM CD's don't work, and if you have SP1 installed you'll need to either use a SP1 CD or remove the service pack, which seems pretty much impossible if you can't boot at all.

That's the only thing I know that -might- work.

Yeah ummm, i dont have the CD for it *Says quietly* I downloaded Win 7
I could make up another bootable USB drive with all the windows 7 CD files (How i installed it)
That should work as well, so long as it's a retail version and the SP version is the same as is installed on your pc. (I use USB Drives too )

Still having problems booting, windows could not find the problem and i really dont want to reformat!
You could try and select a Restore point to a prior date. Fortunate though that you seem to know what and when it occurred. If this fails reformat may be the easiest and most difintive fix.
