[Project] Rusty Cage - Fractal Design Define XL - GPU waterblocks installed (new pics!) - Page 4

Before I got my current case I was planning on doing something exactly like this build with the XL and a WC setup.

Glad to see you're doing such an awesome job at it. I can live vicariously through your build while I wait for BD to get started on mine

nice! do you think an RX360 can fit up top?

and is there any way to make this an inverted atx?

I wish I had more. I've been sick and have been playing catchup at work. I'll have an update or two this weekend.

I had to order an extension for my 8 pin mobo cable and I threw a Koolance drain valve in for kicks. There might even be some LED lighting on its way too.

An RX360 would fit up top, but you'd lose the top fan that pushes air out of the rear of the case. An RX240 would fit up there nicely though.

As for inverting the motherboard, I'd need to measure. I know my mobo is 12x9, so it might just work with some careful modding. I will check back and let you know soon!

*Update
Ok, so you could invert a 12x9 mobo (or smaller of course), but it would be a tight fit. You'd lose almost all of the cable management holes and of course you'd have to mod it to get your monitor/keyboard/mouse/headphones/network/etc cables inside the case... I'd stick with one of those Raven cases or something larger that's more customizable if you really want inverted ATX.

Something like this custom Danger Den:

Minor, but time consuming update.

I needed to paint the slot covers for my X-Fi and pair of 6950s.

I also needed to cover up the hole vacated when I rotated my PSU up on its side to make room for the RX360. A piece of aluminum from Lowe's and my handy-dandy dremel tool made quick work of that.

Oh, and I had to do something about that Crossfire Bridge too.

Need paint:

Hey you have the X-CNFC's too!

I love mine, so much quieter than the reference cards.

I almost went with reference 6950s just to unlock them or flash them, but I decided against that and chose quieter and cooler. I'm really happy with them and because they're so great as-is, I haven't ordered GPU blocks for them, even through my RX360 is a little excessive for just my 2600k.

looking good NKH. I was just wondering, would it be possible to install the radiator with the fans facing down instead of to the side of the case (and cut out fan holes underneath the case)? Or is there not enough room with the psu down there.
