Day One. 21-5-2011

So i remembered i had a HAF932 sitting around collecting dust because i upgraded to a Colossus and nobody wanted the haf... (the shipping cost was more then the case) So i pulled it out and started removing everything i could possibly need from it.

Front grill.... gave me an idea.

Day Two 22-5-2011

So today the work starts... It was a bit wet and humid outside so i decided to start on the front of the case while waiting for the weather to dry up.

Pulled out the rotary tool and started cutting.
S6304145.jpg

Pulled out the hot glue gun and started gluing! (Ghetto glue ftw!)
S6304147.jpg

Problem with the Ghetto glue was it was a giant lump... So i pulled out a small file i had lying around, flat and wide... and then grabbed my Jet lighter for HEAT. Heated up the file and smoothed out the glue.
S6304149.jpg

So with the glue smooth but still rather rough (i think it adds character... but im just lazy) i decided to get the painting set up.

I decided to do it under my house as the weather is up to crap here in north QLD. The problem with under my house is the excessive amount of dust and dirt... so i built this biggrin.gif
S6304152.jpg
S6304155.jpg

Then with a test paint i realized that there was no airflow and the paint sorta just floated around... so i looked to the HAF for help... and it did.

GHETTO FAN!!!
S6304162.jpg

With the 230mm fan hooked up to the psu from an old ODD server i could leave it running to provide airflow... And latter i found out it actualy caused the paint to dry faster aswell biggrin.gif

Now my paint choice... only cheap stuff but i can make it look good with my 1337 skilz bruz!
S6304159.jpg

And a trick i picked up from OCN, warming the paint before spraying. (warm water was in the bucket)
S6304160.jpg

Time to start painting!!! (mesh from front panel and io)
S6304165.jpg

While that was drying i decided to start on the chassis. First off cut the fan hole. (used some tin snips, worked quite well)
S6304166.jpg

Remove the back/top panel so i can paint the chassis and panel separately.
S6304171.jpg

The Mesh is now dry!
S6304176.jpg
S6304178.jpg

I then gave the front a spray and let it dry while helping the sister with her assignments.
(sorry no pics)

Then i put it together biggrin.gif (also painted the card reader, forgot to take pics)
S6304183.jpg

Lookin badass!

Started the Chassis paint.

Thanks. I'm hoping this turns out well.

Will be slow because can only afford parts every fortnight (stupid fortnightly pay). I can only do mod work on the weekends to.

Day Three 23-5-2011

So... where were we. ah yes chassis paint

So the chassis has dried and its looking marvelous!
S6304186Custom.jpg

Quickly put the IO panel together, needs to be mounted a little more solidly, will tackle that latter.
S6304191Custom.jpg

Put some stuff on the front panel for filters.
S6304205Custom.jpg

So i needed a way to mount the feet. Looked to my old 360 which had RROD. I had installed a X-Clamp mod after it RROD the first time, so i had some bolts and washers.
S6304194Custom.jpg
S6304195Custom.jpg
S6304198Custom.jpg
S6304199Custom.jpg

Then for the spare PCI slots, i looked again to the HAF... And surely enough it had what i needed.
S6304200Custom.jpg

This is its current state waiting for the back/top panel ad the window panel to be finished.
S6304207Custom.jpg

Enjoy the pics. i have to work.

Thanks. Latter on im going to take my rotary tool or some rough sand paper to the rough bit on the front panel... just doesn't look right :/

Just ordered a power switch. This thing is sexy.

Will look sweet on the IO panel.
