Everyone should agree with eachother to a degree, I mean we're all here for the same reasons, people only start disagreeing when someone says either of these: 'AMD ARE BEST' or 'INTEL ARE BEST'. Only the clever bunch see both companies and not just one...

Anyway, I see this going off-topic.

intel seems to be a tad bit pricey, with high top cpu's going way over $500 not everyone is a money bag or has a money print machine, as far as I can tell spending 400 more on a a extra ghz isnt a necessity for a few extra fp's, then again I dont program or use frostbite 2 im just a simple gamer

Sure the extreme editions are pricey but you can buy a 2500k for the same price as an x6. This is the much better option for a gamer.

agreed, but I wouldn't say much better, only a fraction considering the price and the extra 0.ghz

Remember though, Intel has the best IPC, it's not always about ghz. AMD has always tried to make up for this in core count. I must agree, the low sandy bridge prices are going to be hard for AMD to fight. Hopefully there's a substantial increase in IPC with the new architecture from AMD.

AMD FX-8130P – 8 Core, 3.8Ghz, Max T.C 4.2Ghz, 125W ($320)
Assuming this is even remotely true....

Just by looking at the price ($320)....

It's safe to assume that AMD has the winner....

==============================

Of course T.C. will get turned off (is possible) and people will ramp this 3.8 GHz CPU into the >5.0 GHz range...

The only question I have is, how high will it go on Air?

I'm still not sold. The current high end AMD cpus offer more cores for less money than Intel but the Intel chips still smoke them. I'll decide who makes the best high end desktop cpu after the independent reviewers start forming a concensus (like they did after the SB launch). If Guru, Tom's, Anandtech, etc start saying BD is hands down the best there is after reviewing it then I'll believe it. It wouldn't be too bad to see AMD on top for a while....

hope microcenter sell them at $90 off like it does SB

this might be very true.
I remember AMD stated way back, that a single bulldozer module (2 int cores) is faster than two Phenom II K10 cores.

Now, seeing as how a stock thuban 1100T scores roughly 5,9 @ Cinebench R11.5; the 6-core bulldozer should be way faster than that clock for clock already. And if those leaked clock speeds are true, we might very likely see the 6core being clocked at like 4GHz+ outperforming the 1100T by a huge bit, something like 7.0+ score @ Cinebench R11.5
This would already be faster than a 2600k which does ~ 6.9 @ stock.

So if my calculation is correct, then the 8core bulldozer should be way faster than current sandy bridge.

Looks like a BS "leak". If they all have 95W TDP minimum, what the hell kind of Turbo frequency does the quad core version get, 5GHz+? Seems fake to me.
