4th core probably a bit on the weak side. but with this voltage i ran Linx for 9 hours and never gave any errors or anything.

You're perfectly safe cranking the voltage up to 1.55v. As said by AMD. I've really got to find that post that says it...

AMD said 1.55? do we have any AMD reps on here?

as a triple core the temps say max with cpu fan on 75% is 32C thats with prime 95 for 8 minutes

Yes, 1. JF-AMD. But he's not the one who said it. It was an article about AMDs architecture which lead to official AMD documentation stating the safe voltage range.

If you want a better gaming experience, leave your CPU clocks at stock and get a new GPU instead. A 300mhz processor increase won't even come close to helping as much as a new GPU will. GTX 460's can be had pretty cheap now.

This. Totally not worth it IMO.

It's fine as long as temps stay under 55C under IBT, and the mosfets are cooled. It is creeping up to the maximum safe volts though and very little is being gained.

The temperature sensors don't function properly when you unlock cores. Therefore I'd suggest keeping your eye on the CPU/socket temperature and add a few degress and just keep that temperature in check wink.gif

what i did was watch temps at same clocks/voltages as i runt he quad and temps were maximum 33.5C so i figure I'll add 15C extra for the newly unlocked core. on the other hand i just stabilized it at 1.424V biggrin.gif i never tested below 1.52 till now and its perfectly stable at 3GHz quad at 1.424V so im happy Crysis 2 runs a little better and BC2 runs significantly smoother.

yeah i was thinking i had a faulty core but turns out it was my motherboard overheating so i pointed my 120MM fan at the NB and boom stable quad at 3GHz.

technically i am still within AMD spec

1.15 - 1.425
