Baby SATA mod

Thread Starter
Been playing around with the idea of cutting a SATA cable to shrink its size down.
Will i lose and performance? Has anyone done this before? Ive only found one guide on how to this. http://metku.net/index.html?path=mods/baby-sata/index_eng How can i test it after I'm done making it to see if i lost some performance or maybe gain some instead.

Performance? You really think your data access speed is being affected, let alone bottlenecked, by the length of a SATA cable?

... I literally do not understand how you think that would work.

Theoretically if done right, it shouldn't decrease speed, but rather increase signal quality since it needs to travel over a shorter distance.

Yea, theoretical. In real life, if done correctly, you'd notice no performance difference.

you will see zero change in speed by shortening or lengthening your cables smile.gif
