As the title suggests, what is a silent & high performing cpu cooler?

Wait for the Corsair H100 to come out or buy the Corsair H60 right now.

Not worth the money.

Noctua d14 is dead silent and cools better. Just gotta make sure you have enough space in your case before you buy.

I would much prefer an actual air cooler because I had an H50 and didn't think that the performance was worth the price...

EDIT: The D-14 is silent?

I don't see why I wouldn't have space for a D-14, I mean I have a CM 690 II...

my Mugen 2 is pretty silent and cools excellently

at a price of only about $40 and under it's hard to beat.

If I can get the the following for the following...
U12P ~$30
Mugen 2 ~$45
D14 ~$65
Which should I go for?
Should the U12P be able to get, for example the 2500K to 4.8GHz 24/7 stable silently?

If you want to spend money on some silent fans to help it get there.. but then you're defeating the purpose of buying the cheaper cooler.

If you've got your heart set on a high OC with silence, just go big and get the noctua d14. Don't get me wrong, I love my mugen 2 but if I was going for silence AND performance, the D14 would have been the first thing in my cart.
