is this temperature x4 955 @stock clock??

Thread Starter
I'm using a XIGMATEK Thor's Hammer and it stays around 40C (@ stock clock) on idle, and 50-52C on full load. Is this normal?

-EDIT-
my ram run @800mhz (9-11-9-24) and 1.650V are they (my temperature) influence with this???

50c under full load isn't terrible. But for stock that might be a little high. What is your voltage on the chip?

your cpu voltage should be much lower for stock. My chip runs at 1.3 stock and can go lower.

The 955 is a great chip for undervolting. 1.4 Vcore is way too high at stock. Mine will do stock speed @ 1.25 Vcore just fine and never breaks 40C. I can get 3.8 GHz @ 1.375 Vcore. Definitely play with the voltage and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

All above posters are right. Took a friend's PII 955 BE to 4ghz on stock voltage, and it stays around 63c load in his push/pull CM hyper 212+

Try lowering the Volts on the CPU and see if that helps also getting some good thermal paste like Artic silver 5 would help a bit.

yes I've done what you suggest. I've lowered the voltage to 1.25 and runs stable with 35-38C @idle on stock clock.
