What CPU temp are we looking for aircooling?

My Q6600G0 is running idle at 46C sorta idle after i ran the Windows Experience Index.

WEI ran it up over 50C

Are these normal?.....the HSF i got from an ACER w/ hooded fan

NB. I overclocked it to 3.0Ghz sorry

P5K deluxe AP-wifi
DDR2 Hynix
TT Lanfire (1 side fan set)
ACER HSF

you need to give more information. what type of case? how many fans? good airflow? is the cpu overclocked?

You can't give no information and expect an accurate answer.

thanks but need just the theoretical magical temp we should be seeking for air cooling is what i need...

I have Lanfire case, with one side fan operational at this stage, and can get two more in there but just need to know if 46C idle and 52-4C is wht people are aiming for?

idle temps don't matter so much. just stay under 80c during 100% load and you should be good.

well i kinda wanna see the baseline of the different HSF assemblies, so the idle sorta helps a bit

What are you using to read temps? 46 idle is high.

OP go back and fill your system specs so we can help you.
Lordy this should be a OCN rule by now.
