whats your Vcore? Mine i got it down to 1.2V setting and its still running; apparently it s at 1.176V

Again for the third time please fill in your system spec, I don't like going back and forth to figure what you have. Go Here http://www.overclock.net/specs.php

OMG LOL every post I am gonna have a different system to deal with !!!

Dont you people know the expression "Teach a man to fish"?

What is the concept behind aircooling? what temperature am i attempting to get, what vcore can i use

You asked for the screnshots so diagnose as a doctor would look at xrays

okay your running too hot get a new cpu cooler.
what are your ambient temps.
and buy a hyper 212 that would be good for your set up

Right now Vcore is at 1.264 according to CPU-Z, but in BIOS I have it set to auto.

Different cores operate at different temperatures, but I think it's safe to say around high 20's to mid 30's for idle and anywhere from 50-60C under load (for extended periods of time) is fine for Q6600. I've pushed my Q6600 to 72C with the stock HSF at 3.2GHz, but I didn't do it for an extended period of time.

Right now with my CM V8 the max I've hit is 61C while playing BFBC2, but it stays at that temperature only for a few seconds. The temp will fluctuate under "gaming load" around 54-58C on average.

In regard to temperature and Vcore threshold, that's chip specific. I don't think there's any one magical number that one person can attain that will be perfect for all CPUs. Chips will fry at different temperatures and voltages. Do your research for each CPU you'll be dealing with to get an idea of the threshold values. I believe the max temp and voltages are listed on Intel's website, I don't know about AMD.

What about I7 2600, OC to 4.7 GHZ Vcore 1.345 Idle around 38>42c, Max load is 79c with intel burn test using CoreTemp and HW monitor.

I'm replacing the CNPS11x's fan with a Noiseblocker MP-12 shortly hopefully that lower it a bit.

Too high?

Tim

Run prime95. 100% CPU load. WEI is a piece of crap.

Keep temps under 80C.

What voltage on the 3ghz OC?

What ambient temps?

EDIT: Zalman CPNS11X is also a piece of crap. New fan won't help. Get a Noctura D14/Silver arrow/ RX360 kit.

idle temps mean absolutly nothing, and WEI is a joke
