Found a mid 90's mechanical keyboard, anyone know if its anygood?

Was digging through a storage shed and found 4 flawless mechanical keyboards. I've never owned a mechanical keyboard and always wanted one, so I was pleasantly surprised to feel and hear the click after pressing a key.

Think these were made for windows '95 by a company called "platinum sound or SC&T international, inc" says Platinum Pro model CC-104. It has a small LCD above the numpad with a clock and calculator function (its a onboard calculator that is seperate from the calculator program in windows).

It also has a blue type "Fn" key that when pressed in conjunction with various keys does various things. Found out if I pushed it along with F12 it locked the keyboard from registering keys, until unlocked.

After googling it I didn't get much in the way from results on seeing the keyboard or finding the company website because I believe it went out of business.

I'm just posting because I am curious to know if these keyboards are any good. I will use one regardless because I like how loud it is, and I just think its cool. I looked in a sticky on here at the older keyboards and I didn't see this one listed. Haven't decided if I will ebay the other 3 or just keep em'; the boxes are a bit worn but the keyboards are absolutely pristine, can tell they never been used or taken out.

It sounds like an interesting keyboard from your description, can you snap a few pictures of the top and underside?

I don't have a comparison on how loud the "click" of a mechanical keyboard usually is but this thing makes a racket when typing; it does have a tactile feel also. Kind of humorous because I'm so used to the very silent keys of my old keyboard; its a real novelty for me. Going to see if I can drone out the game sound of SC2 when playing on this tongue.gif.

That would be informative wouldn't it, hmm.. do the keycap's tend to be removable for the various types of switches? Wouldn't want a spring to shoot out and blind me lol.

Yea, paper clip under each side of the key and pull up together.
