HUGE L desk for $69!!! I payed $129 last week - Page 3

I have the Z-line Legacy desk (the one with glass surface) and I love it. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have blanking panels to cover up the wires.

Other than that, it is a solid desk. It is currently holding a 52 lb receiver and a 40 lb center channel speaker without any problems!

I can't say how well the build quality is for this desk, but Z-line makes some good stuff.

Got this desk on sale before (I think they bumped the price up by 10 this time?). It's not bad for the money, you get a lot of space for what you're paying, but it's a pain to clean, and you need to build a backbrace for the long side of the desk, 'cause that thing can't even support the hutch on top of it for a year, without sagging. Plus, the maple finish laminate peels off easily. Mine fell apart after about a year and a half. I trashed it and got a technimobili retractable one that usually goes on sale for about 50 bucks.

I can't find a good image for the specs of the one in the OP, other than the one that's already on the Staples site, but if you compare the weight tolerance for that to the glass desk (attached), the glass desk is spec'd to handle 2x more weight on the two desks, while the corner is the same.

Edit: I realized the image was transparent, so I tried my best to fill it with white. You can make out most of the numbers.

I'll wait for the glass Legacy L-desk. Man, it better go on sale this summer; I move into an apartment in fall.

Hey guys, I was thinking about buying this until you guys said it sucked monkey balls.

What do you think of this desk for my mother? That's a good price range for me. Anything else better that could be suggested?

If you have an IKEA nearby, you can build your own desk for less than 80 bucks.

All you need is Legs+ flat desk part.

They also have some fancier surfaces, and fancier legs if you like.

I have two of these. Though they fulfill the basic desk functions, quality is not high with this desk. The weight of my three monitors causes bowing on the long span and my rigr causes a bit of bowing on the short span. I did get them both for $100 but I would have been better off buying a more robust setup or just diy a nice desk with some good materials. I did get insurance on both, ~$10, so if they break, I can get a new one or store credit.
