Massive Commercial LAN party?

Thread Starter
I have a small start up computer repair business in southwestern Pennsylvania and an idea hit me:

How interested would people be if we were to hold public LAN parties in a location big enough with enough power? Pay around ten dollars, bring a rig and legit software, and possibly get prizes and food?

Get around 20-30 people and play BF2 or SC2. Have it in a fire hall with the firemen making good food. Maybe do this once a month

So I come to you, wise minds of OCN, and ask if you think it'll work? How can it be better? If you were to go, how what games would you want played?

Easily do able.

Making it massive is the hard part. Quakecon didn't just get big from one day to another.

Also once a month is rather often. Sometimes you just get LAN'd out. Depending on where you have it then you need to pay to rent out the place.

Internet cafes are a good spot since they will have all the necessary equipment. All you need is people to attend and pay.

I would recommend: BF:BC2, StarCraft II, Crysis 2, Call of Duty the zombie mode always makes me and my friends panic and scream!

For a LAN Party you're definitely looking at games like Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, BF: Bad Company 2, Call of Duty 4, Starcraft II...

Those are the most played imho in Lan Parties.
