To be exact, the two ranting are you, and me. You, about OP's purchase, and me, about you. And if you'll re-read my post, you'll notice the part about "Graphics Cards" takes up about two lines. My main points take up many more and should be considered much more important. Cheers!
Why don't you leave instead? All you've done is praise someone that wasted his money. I actually feel bad about him.

Also, is there any reason why you opted for 2x Asus Ares as opposed to 4x 5870's?
This program cannot be discussed. A 5870 is faster than a 6970 in this app, however.

First off, it's "graphics cards", that was an incorrect use of capitalization. Please adhere to English grammatical rules.

...you. You feel the need to continually post (and even double-posted once!) your anger. Here's a tip: no one gives a flying excrement what you think.

And to the OP: congrats on your purchase and I hope those two monsters make you happy
Well said....

I'm staying because I'd like to see OP's further comments. I believe you should leave because you have nothing positive to say. Much like the age-old adage, "Keep calm and carry on", I suggest you do the same thing and, carry-on!

I never claimed cosmetics/exclusivity didn't factor in. Guess what? I do like the way they look and the fact that there are only 998 others in existence. I have always been a sucker for things that are unique.

Sure there are more price efficient ways I could get the same performance, 6xxx series cards don'y happen to be one of them.

I really like my computer case, it's plenty big enough. I can technically fit 4 dual slot cards in it but don't really want to deal with the heat issues that arrise out of doing that.

Lastly,
Haters going to hate, if I had gotten 6990s these same people would be giving me crap about never being able to see the benefits and I should have just got one and spent the rest on monitors

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and yes for the majority of people the purchase of these cards makes no sense.

For me it is a total of about an extra $200 indulgence over a pair of 5970s. Well worth it for the coolness factor and better build quality.

If that makes me stupid in your eyes then dammit, I am stupid in the eyes of some person I will never meet and couldn't care two craps about what they think of me

This,
Special edition stuff is worth the extra money, and usually look better
And congratz on the hardware!

Another vote for you to leave the thread.

You don't need to tell someone that many times about how he could've gotten better for the money he spent. I think once would have been enough, now you are just trolling

You make a thread saying you purchased two old, overpriced graphics cards and expect all comments to be praising you? Didn't think so. If you don't want someone to critique you for something, don't post it.

Axel, honestly, just stop. You are doing nothing but arguing an causing a flame war, just stop. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.

I can see the appeal of these over two 6990's, the "Wow factor" and uniqueness of them really makes a lot of difference. Enjoy them.
