Laptop - Around 1K$

Thread Starter
Looking for a Laptop with a monitor from 15 to 17".
With something powerful like an i7 and if possible a nice video card.
I don't game anymore, but playing Civ 4-5, CoD 4 and Warcraft from time to time with friends. But basically, this will be for studies and is meant to last. Also nice if it can play movies in HD 1080p and has an HDMI exit. My budget is around 1K$ and it is to be bought in Canada.

For gaming requires a cool laptop with good air flow and a decent graphics card. Im sure if you look for a gaming laptop, it would be more than enough to be used as a homework computer. I'd recommend looking at the ASUS laptops to see if you can find one under that range, only because I've seen good air flow. However, for gaming, I would always recommend a desktop since laptops over heat easily if you use it for gaming too much. This obviously shortens the lifespan of your laptop. I hope you the best.

Finding a 1080p display can be tough, could you settle for 720p?
