Which One (570 ?)

Thread Starter
I am planning on purchasing a midlevel+ graphical card. I think that the 570 gtx is probably the best bang for my buck, but I don't know which manufacturer. According to Newer, I am thinking EVGA, but I am opento suggestions.

If I were to buy my 570 again, I would get an MSI Twin Frozr 3. It has a more robust power delivery system which is a known issue on 570's when OCing with voltage increases. I would also look at the GTX 560 Ti as a cheaper alternative, your monitor isn't a very high resolution so you shouldn't need the extra VRAM.

Get a Twin Frozr III

Or if you want a nice warrenty: then EVGA is always a good option.

Awesome Cooling, more robust power delivery, and higher resale value: Asus DirectCu II or MSI Twin Frozr III or Gigabyte SOC (something like that)

Warranty: EVGA

Depends on what you want, would you like a graphics card that exhausts air out side the case or in side the case?

Cards that exhaust air out side the case would be cards like the EVGA GTX 570 or EVGA GTX 570 SC.

Cards that exhaust air in side the case would be cards like the Twin Frozr III GTX 570.

I have been reading of various cards on Newegg.... I do not think/know if my power supply will handle one of these cards due to the 12v rails not having enough amperage.

I have an OCZ Stealth Extreme II.

Funny, because this PSU claims to support SLI. Guess I'll be buying a new PSU first..

So what I want is something to handle most modern games at a high fps with high/est settings. I don't want one for some of the reasons some may want a card.

So what would be a good card for me. Asking for any suggestions

Question:

If each 12v rail is rated at 18amps, and the card requires 36amps, since it takes two 12v rails am I ok?

Just go for the EVGA GTX 570 SC, also your psu should do the job.

Just got a Evga gtx 570 (non sc) I am able to hit 800/1600/2000 at stock volts not bad. Idles at 32c it maxes at 68c with 65% fan. The fan is dead quiet.

840 was technically stable but fps seem to drop off after 825, left it at 800 to be safe.
