Nvidia GTX 580 help

I'm going to start by saying that I am a vergin to OCN so please be gentle. I love messing with computers but I still consider myself somewhat of a noob. I guess I should start by giving u a brief description of my problem then we can start running from there. If I leave my computer on for more then about 24 hrs it will green screen on YouTube videos (the video only not the full screen). It will also artifact during game play, and randomly black screen then recover and it tells me there was some sort of graphical failure. I think it might have something to do with the drivers, witch are the current drivers from evga version 366.something. I can't remember exactly and I have my computer completely disassembled in preparation for a new case that should arrive in a few days so I can't check. Any help u can give me would be great. Idk if it matters but I have a SSD boot drive that my OS is on but my drivers for my card are on a 1T regular hard drive. The major components of my computer are: evga x58 Classified 3 MOBO, EVGA Nvidia GTX 580 graphics card, Intell I7-950 CPU, Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800w PSU

What are the temps of your video card while this is happening? Kinda sounds like a overheating issue to me but you could try DLing drivers from Nvidia again and reinstalling. Is your card overclocked iirc the driver stopping and recovering happens from unstable clocks. Could be unstable power from the PSU maybe have you had issue in the past with other cards or is this a fresh build? If your temps are exceeding 70-80c while you are having this problem try to raise the fan speed or might have to remove cooler and reapply TIM.

This sounds most like an overheat, but try a few of the recent certified drivers and see if that changes anything.

You should have Precison software manual fan settings on instead of auto.

If you should see artifacts when gaming try completely shutting down your system, and power off. Wait a couple mins and reboot. See if that clears up the artifiacting.

Do you leave your computer on 24/7?

It's most likely not your power supply, not your mobo, not bottle necking with your CPU from what your specs read.

I thought Black Screen of Death was due to Windows failure of some sort?

I'm pretty sure it is not my temps I have a water block on it (problem existed b4 I added waterblock) it runs under load at 32c. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers 4 times and I'm pretty sure my PSU is good. I'm beginning to think I just got a bad card
