Q6600 needs a new Mobo.

Thread Starter
I had troubles overclocking my Q6600 and the CPU forum linked it to my crappy Foxconn mobo throttling my speeds. I was wondering if you guys could suggest a replacement on experience? I know this is a great cpu and i dont really want to have to buy a new processor AND motherboard.

THANKS!

Something with X48 and many phases is preferable but a nice P45 mothetboard won't be bad choice, too.

Q6600's aren't that great... Even G0's have a hard time hitting 3.6GHz on high-end air... And run very hot..

If you can get a dirt cheap, good P45 mobo and a good air cooler, then why not. Otherwise it's not worth the hassle..

I have a Corsair H50 water cooler, so cooling is not a problem for me

Hassle? What hassle? Swapping out a motherboard is cake. It depends on your budget though.

OP: Have you tried the BSEL mod?
