USB headset not recognized

Thread Starter
I am running windows 7 with the rig in my sig. I have a pair of sharkoon xtatic-sp gaming headsets and my computer wont pick up its signal. I don't know if it's a windows 7 thing or what but I tried it on my laptop also and it didnt recognize it either but it actually worked on the laptop.

I have been using the headset for a couple months with my xbox and it works Perfectly on there. I have tried enabling all devices not shown, changing default devices, downloading drivers, updating drivers.

One thing that is weird is that before I updated the drivers two exclamation points showed up in the device manager and said the driver could not be found and updated. I eventually said screw it and bought a driver updater and it downloaded a driver for it AND the exclamation points are gone but still no recognition. I have been looking all day and do not want to spend another 60-70$ on a gaming headset just for my PC (hence why I bought the pc/xbox compatible one).

Any suggestions anyone? Thanks much.

EDIT: I BOUGHT A NEW HEADSET. After working on the comp for another hour or two with an old headset I have come to the conclusion there is a compatibility issue even though it works perfectly on xbox. So now I am the proud owner of a Fata1ity headset

You may need to manually select the driver to use. I had to do this with my xbox wireless controller adapter in W7. Give that a shot.

Thanks and I did try that. I honestly tried everything. For some reason I could hear out of the headset very very faintly to the point of a hearing test. It must just not be completely compatible with windows 7 I guess. Thanks for the help.
