Down to 3 Mobos... help me decide?

Hey everyone,

Got Newegg to refund me on my Asrock Fatal1ty board and looking into some better options.

I need something with a black/earth tone or black/red color scheme, with room for dual SLI double slot VGA's and a single PCI slot for my sound card. Also need a debug LED... power/reset buttons on mobo a plus, as well as CMOS switch on the back. Trying to stay under 300 USD, but it's hard.

So far the closest options are:

1. Asus Maximus IV Extreme ... Has pretty much anything I could need/want... but it's missing a legacy PCI slot? That means my 180 USD sound card would be useless. -.- It's about 100 USD over my budget too.

2. Sabertooth P67 ... Good price, but no debug LED is painful (was a lifesaver on my failed Asrock build), and if I want to SLI I lose my only PCI slot (why does it have 3 1x slots anyway?)

All other good options I can find are blue schemed Gigabytes, which would clash with my RAM, Vcard and cathode lighting.

The Sabertooth is quite overprices for what it has to offer. I wouldn't be surprised if the heat shielding stuff was there as a gimmick.

As for the Maximum IV Extreme, that's a GREAT board, and it offers a lot of options.

But if I were to suggest a totally motherboard, Gigabyte's P67A-UD4 is a matte black motherboard, totally black. Seeing as you have Ripjaws, the color would be complete.

Retails for around $160.

Yah looks decent, but the heatsinks have bold blue highlights (yes, Im that picky lol).

Solid black would be great, or black/red. Black/gold or silver or tan would work too.

$15 over $300... but I think you'll manage. It's a GREAT board.

I give a thumbs up to the UD7, I quite liked it and honestly wish I had kept it (what was I thinking? )

The slot spacing is a little stupid in that you can't quadfire double slot cards but most people dont do that anyway.

The Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7 or GA-P67A-UD7 have the PCI slot.

I actually ended up going with the Sabertooth. Fits my price range a little better.

After some consideration, I probably wont ever run an SLI configuration anyway (I'd rather buy 1 powerful GPU). I like the color scheme and the thermal cover (even if it is a gimmick).

Not sure how I feel about the Q-LED as opposed to debug LED. Then again, debug LED's are often innacurate or vague anyway.

As long as this thing works out of the box as opposed to the days of troubleshooting I did on my Asrock P67 Pro I will be a happy camper!

Thanks for the input folks.
