Refurb. Lenovo Thinkpad Z61T $219 - Page 2

is it core duo, or core 2 duo is maybe a typo. Those specs aren't clear enough to be authorative, IMO.

It's probably a Core 2 Duo considering the fact it comes with 2GB DDR2 RAM.

If the display is bright and even... Seems like a great deal.

Oh yeah, true, I think I've seen you post about it before.

but anyway, if you're talking about a laptop for school, I say the smaller the better, even if it costs more. The Z61T looks a bit thick for my taste. and while the processor may be faster, it only has Intel GMA950. It won't handle HD playback well at all. I dunno about you, but my school has a bunch of HDTVs in the Cafeteria. It's great to be able to hook my laptop up and play my Blu-ray rips.

I have my current laptop for those tasks, TBH. This would be something for taking notes and having long battery life. The weight and size of this shouldn't really be an issue, seeing as it weights 4.5 pounds vs. my 7.3 pound current laptop and the fact it has a 14" chassis. What'll break or make it is the battery life.

Found a review of it. Obviously depends on which battery this comes with (presumably the 4 cell and not the 7 cell), but should be around 3 hours. The review is from 4 years ago, so things were not as efficient as they are today.

Hmm... I'm looking at the pictures and the battery protrudes from the back. That probably means either 6-cell or 7-cell as you said. If it gets at least 4 hours, I may buy it.

I show it in stock again.

These are 1st gen Core 2 duo or Core duo processors. If it's 2ghz it's either a Core Duo T2450 (Yonah Socket M, 2mb cache), or hopefully a Core 2 Duo T7200 (Merom Socket M, 4mb cache).

Also they're most likely GMA950 graphics, though it was apparently possible to order them with Nvidia graphics as well.

They hold up fairly well but don't expect this laptop to be a scorcher speedwise.
