Should I be running 8pin power connector instead of 4?

As you can see from my comp specs, I am running a 1090T slightly OC'd on a ASUS mobo that is a 4 pin power connector. Should I be running this CPU on a 8 pin power connector and why? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

8 pin still only gives you 12v

but its more stable.

The board only has a 4-pin power connector
Doesn't matter even if you get an 8-pin to 4-pin adapter

Get a new motherboard if you are into overclocking, 8Pin is much more stable for OCing especially with a processor like the one you are using.

Yeah thats what I have been thinking is for OCing. I can't get very stable above 4Ghz on the CPU and have to run 1.51vcore to be stable at 4ghz. Can't get my NB stable past 2600mhz either. Don't know if the 4 pin has anything to do with that, maybe a mix of that and the chipset on the board.

Ive had threads on my Vcore before asking if it was to high, people have said that vcore is fine. We have agreed on that either my chip is power hungry or 4 pin is affecting power to it. I personally didn't like the idea of running over 1.5 so I backed down to 3.8ghz at 1.47v. Part of why I started this thread was to see if anyone else thought that I could get better voltages with a 8 pin.

Not more stable... sorta. The additional pins create less Vdrop which means less work for the MOSFETs regulating the power to the CPU.

However, the VDrop is marginal unless at higher current draws.
