One big rule of thumb I have is don't drink your calories. Aka pop. Its surprising how little people know how much bad sugar is in pop. I think it is close to 40 grams in one can :S

Considering myself a "healthy" person I just drink liters of water during my gaming sessions. Fills me up and I dont get fat but I can see how some kids can get fat by just eating all day and doing little activity
