OP, avoid the TFII, but the TFIII and DCII are both amazing cards. I don't believe the difference between the two is enough to justify the increased cost of the TFIII, so I recommend the DCII, having it myself.
Do u have enough room to crossfire with your Asus dcii?
I Would like t crossfire sometime in the future.

My motherboard only has one PCIe slot, but the one I'm soon to get (Am3+ or 1155) will be chosen with it in mind.

Also, it's SLI with Nvidia, not Crossfire.

Palit NE5X570HF10DA GeForce GTX 570 draws a lot of power. Almost as much as a GTX 580. Needs an 8pin and 6pin power connector. This card wins 5 out of 10 benches compared to an AMD 6970 per Maximum PC bench marks two months ago, both with most current drivers btw. Very nice GTX 570 @ 800mhz core.

Other I'd suggest would be the MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr III card. Requires two 6 pin connectors so less power draw. Just a tad behind in specs but not buy much, very nice cooling and quality components @ 770Mhz core.

Lastly if you want a reference card instead where the heat exhaust goes out the back of the air flow bracket outside the tower instead of dumping inside bringing ambient temps up overall then I'd suggest EVGA GTX 570 SC. Requires two 6 pin power connectors. Very nice reference card @ 797Mhz core.

Those are the three choices I'd think about if I were you. Balls in your court, post back and let us know what you end up choosing.

If I chose a non ref card is the ambient temp very significant?

Definitely the Twin Frozr III. Both have upgraded VRMs, so you can pump more voltage through them without worrying (unlike the reference boards). However, the ASUS takes up 3 slots and IIRC, doesn't have RAM heatsinks.

I say don't go for a 570 since they seem to have power delivery issues when OC'd...

Over volted, not if only over clocked.

Hence why I/others are recommending he get a non reference card that won't have that problem... Twin Frozr III or DirectCu II do not have power delivery issues when OC'ed.

ok, im a little confused now.
im leaning more toward the 570 twin frozr iii and the 570 palit
but i was checking out some 560 cards and came across MSI N560GTX-Ti Hawk, which has better specs than the 570's except Processor Cores and memory size. Is this a better card than the 570?

This decision is getting too difficult.
