Nope I left them enabled. It seems that higher end volts raise the minimum for stability.

Im about to test the PLL at 1.86 and 1.88 with low power mode to see if it still crashes.

Ok changing the PLL to 1.88v does seem to have stopped the BSOD while keeping the vcores at default and allowing them to undervolt and save power. I notice on epu the PLL change has made 0.19 watts increase of difference to the power draw too. Sadly though i'm hit with a new problem. My once thought 1.44v stability @ 4.8Ghz is now unstable and crashes even when i change the setting in idle. Atm my cpu can only manage 4.3Ghz on stock volts. My new 2600K arrives tmrw and i'm seriously thinking about rethinking my overclocking perspective. These chips are getting really sensitive now and after only giving this some light abuse it has degraded in a matter of 3 weeks. Ive even read that people have experienced degrade even at 1.29v. Ah well this has only got to last me till ivy bridge or haswell 8 core 16 thread chips are mainstream.

No I do have idle issue. Everything was working great except when I was idle it was BSOD with 0x00000124. Either upping the PLL to 1.88v or the vcore by 0.1v fixes it. Now though recently today ive discovered my 1.44v overclock is unstable. Before I started overvolting this cpu I never had any idle issues or BSOD. I have a new cpu arriving tmrw, we will see if this is the mobo or the cpu. I'm thinking i've just cooked the cpu and it takes more juice to be stable as it breaks down. Increasing the vcore and PLL is just adding fuel to a fire, the chip is now past its best.

Manual voltage + PLL to 1.7125v + Speedstep off worked for me.

on 1606 BIOS Offset/Manual doesn't matter for me.
Or just fold.

If its idle/low load issues then disabling C3/C6 will also help, it actually resolves that issue better than the 1.88PLL on my end. Your processor would still down clock but it wont totally shut down the cores and not cause to much under voltage.

The so call degradation at such lower voltages. Is very hard to proof. I'm not saying that i cannot happens , but knowing people running ther chips at 1.40 - 1.42. without any sign of degradation. It's very hard to believe.

cba, haven't you realized yet that what happens to one person may not happen to another? You can't say it's hard to believe just because it hasn't happened to you.

Degradation is *real*. If you haven't had it, be fortunate and knock on wood. I've had it on both of my cpu's, as have many, many others. You also have to know the bottom limits (absolute minimum vcore) needed for stability at a certain clock (where 0.01v lower will cause an eventual crash) to test this accurately, too. If you set your vcore 0.05v higher than a vcore that caused you to get a prime BSOD in 3 hours, for example, you may never notice it (unless you are way above 1.4v--after awhile).

I'm not saying that is not real what i'm saying is not to make storm from a drop of water. If you heavily stress for hours(prime95,IBT,Linx,etx) your cpu at 1.44 the chances to degrade your chip is very high. Unless you got a golden chip.
If i remember correctly in one of your post you have said that you degraded your chip by pumping more than 1.5 at 5.0. And the other pass to get a stable 4.5 at 1.236 to a 1.260. That are very good numbers. A very few chips can get to OC at that vcore.
But saying that you can quickly degrade yor chip even if you doesn't pump more than 1.3. It's overreacting.
If that was the case it would hundred of cases of "degraded" chips. The few cases i read about "degraded" chips was due to poorly OC.
The fact is that there is no fool-proof test to measure degradation.
And what we call stable?
blending? 1 hour and then BSOD? 5 hours and BSOD? 24 hours and BSOD?
I repeat every chip is diferent. Degradation happens even in stock voltages, so stop worrying and enjoy your PC. That was i did.
For me i settled at 4.5 at 1.34 (touching wood). That value allow me to blend for two hours without errors. What is enough for me.
What we need, is a tool to measure "degradation" that doesn't need to be running for hours(cough prime95, cough), and causes more "degradation".
If you wanna to play real safe stay under 1.35-1.38 and you will have a very long time with your SB. If you don't care about "degradation" 1.4 - 1.42 will be fine. If you have a deep pocket, the sky is the limit.
