Help on Bitspower D-Plug Size

post #1 of 9
Thread Starter
So I saw this video about this guy using a Bitspower D-Plug fitting for his Tri-SLI cards (http://goo.gl/fU1K0).

I have a Gigabyte UD9 mobo, which has got 7 PCI lanes. Suppose that I am going for Quad-SLI (single slot cards), plus a sound card, I come up with two scenarios of configuration:

Scenario 1: Occupy lane 1, 2, 3, and 4 for SLI cards, and place the sound card in the remaining lane.

OR

Scenario 2: Occupy lane 1, 3, 5, and 7 for SLI cards, and place the sound card in the remaining lane (2, 4, or 6).

These are the D-Plugs that I am looking at:
BP-WTP-C07 :: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_346_393_621&products_id=22623
BP-WTP-C28 :: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_346_393_621&products_id=24676
BP-MBWP-C38 :: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_346_393_621&products_id=26860

My question is: Which Bitspower D-Plug should I use for the above scenario? I need to find out the distance between card for the above scenarios before I can decide which D-Plug I should get. Any idea?

First option BP-WTP-C07 is the one u want.

I use one for my cards, I have slot 1 and 3 occupied. I will post a pic for you.

Edit:
uspc1kb0.rwz.jpg

I brought two more of the silver ones, they seem to not have any more black ones anymore. I think the mini D-Plugs are for quick disconnecting other parts of your loop such as res to pump or to rad etc.

And scenario 2 would work best me thinks.

ttoadd.nz, could you tell me if the 90º fitting you use (Ram block) is dual rotary or just single?

Could you tell the model?

Hey NP! Yes its a rotary 90º fitting like this one: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_346_393_611_629&products_id=27723

You can then screw what ever compression fitting size or barb into that and your good to go smile.gif

Thanks ttoadd.nz. I just found out that my sound card won't be able to fit in between graphics cards. In other words, the only way for me to install those four GFX cards would be like what I outlined in Scenario 1: Install those cards into slot 1, 2, 3, and 4.

If BP-WTP-C07 works for you (1st and 3rd PCI slots), will BP-WTP-C28 work for Scenario 1?

I'm not 100% sure because your cards will need to be single slot width to run in scenario 1, I would be pretty sure the waterblock itself will interfere with the slot below it...thus not allowing you enough clearance to install the D Plug.

Quad SLI/CFX looks like this, in this set up its the BP-WTP-C07 they would need.
oenvz12l.xr3.jpg

Same again in this setup, the UD9's slots are too close to be able to use the smaller D Plugs for scenario 1.
mtejheyv.3ug.jpg

The only option would be to ditch the sound card or run a 'low profile sound card' so it doesnt hit the D Plug in front of it.
