Still have the same problem with every game. Should I go to Fry's and swap it out for a new one?

Also, before I swap it out, should I uninstall AMD graphics drivers and MSI Afterburner and reinstall them when I get my new card?

download WhoCrashed 3.01 scroll down to Crash Analysis Tools. Install it. Once opened click analyze at the top and it will tell you what make your computer crash. its an awesome program. make sure you share the love. this has help me a lot when my computer was crashing due to drivers.

It might not even be a driver problem but its worth a try

I will try this when I get back home.

Guys, is there any chance at all that this is a PSU issue?

You had an HD 5770 before right? If you are using the same PSU from then, there shouldn't be a problem. But just to be sure, see if you can borrow a card that uses about the same power as your HD 6870, like a 4870, and check whether you get the same issues

Yea I had a 5770 before. Nevertheless, I will return the card to frys today and get the same thing again. Twin Frozr cards are pretty popular in general right?

Ok. So this is the thread where you are having a driver issue and want to switch to nVIDIA. Nothing wrong switching to nVIDIA. I have been a nVIDIA user myself and this is my first switch to AMD. No issue either side.

With that said, do you still have the GPU with you or already returned it? If you still have it, we can try something else out here. Just to re-cap, you have so far tried uninstalling, driver sweeper and installing 11.5 drivers. Correct? And it did not fix your issue. Also, you are running MSI AB at the same time. Correct?

Cool. Did you encounter any kind of error while installing or uninstalling the drivers? Also, can you get to CCC and see what kind of fan settings and clock settings are there?

Assuming no such errors and CCC looks good, just to test out a few things, can you do the following:

1) Uninstall MSI AB completely from your computer. Reboot.
2) Set CCC fan speed to 60% and play your game.

Can you post back?
