It looks good but as others said opt for a better psu.. The h61 has onboard video so either get a cheaper card or skip it altogether and opt for a 2500k CPU for the intel hd 3000. Plays many many games great

Once he starts gaming a bit more, the micro-atx may be a bit limiting.

You could also leave out the dedicated GPU until he needs it. Just a money saving tip. choices look fine for a kid. I bet he will love it. I remember when I first got my own PC I was very proud to own something like that for my own since there are many purposes for computers as well.

Sorry you came to your decision already. Not a bad one at all... I have a 5850 and it's great and I thought the 5830 would be much worse than it actually is. It's not a bad card at all. 5830 is just under the 6850 or around there.

OP has already made his decision

OP if you have not purchased a case yet you should really look at the Antec 300
it comes with a 120mm rear fan and a 140mm fan in the top, plus it has a spot for one in the side panel to cool the v card and two more in the front with removable filters

The newer rev. has a hole cut out of the motherboard tray so you can do a cooler remount with out removing the motherboard

wire management isn't half bad ether with plenty room behind the 5.25 drive bays
and side panel
