There were over ten thousand entries. To help with the mammoth judging task, Valve have thrown the decision making open to the general public. That’s you. To make your voice heard, head over to the new Saxxy Award voting page. It will present you with two videos at a time. All you have to do is vote on which one you think is the best, and move on to the next choice.
Saxxy Voting Page.

I was expecting the entire PC Games section to be overrun with Saxxy entries.

Surprisingly, it wasn't .

Yea it wasn't really a big deal to me so i didn't take the time to enter. Looks like I wasn't the only one if they only got 10 thousand entries. Oh well, good luck to all those who entered.

You don't read much about TF2 on the forums anymore...I think most OCNers have moved on to other shooters.

I found it hard to get into TF2 mainly because the first time I played it every one was already running around with better weapons than me. I think I've only played it about 12 hours or so and I got in it in the Orange Box on Steam pretty close to release.

That's an excuse. The unlocked weapons are just different, not better. A lot of them suck, and none of them are inherently "better", just differnet. I still play scout, sniper, heavy, demo, medic as stock, no unlocked weapons.

If you complain about others somehow miraculously beating you every time "because they had better weapons", you are incorrect. TF2 takes a little bit of getting used to. At least 20h. Then you start getting ahold of the game, and seeing how it flows.

Sorry but most of the unlockable weapons are complete trash. Aside from a select FEW, I still use all stock weapons.

I was still doing alright in the game...I just had to work harder at it. It basically was your average free online play that comes with any first person shooter in my book so i didn't think it was worth the extra time and effort. At least when compared to BF2142 (another only multiplayer shooter with no single player aspect)

...and I've seen some cool weapons. Like the ones that increase rate of fire if they decrease damage. Those are insane. I managed to get one on my heavy.

Regardless...I don't think the game as much of a following as it used to. Not to say that there isn't thousands of players yet.

You've played it for a few hours in the past few years and you are judging the player count? Mmmmkkk

I didn't do it because my server group didn't have any replay servers. There were issues prior to one update that caused issues with the host box with all the servers in that same setup.

But its still a pretty busy game. A lot of people have relegated into their only server groups. I just started May last year and have about 400 hours in it. I still not great, but I am getting better. The new weapons are meh. I most play vanilla except for the equalizer and degreaser/axe. Its showing its age and some pretty meddlesome updates have caused issues with a lot of players. All in all its more about the community than the game. But what do I know, I play on a chaotic Doublecross-only server most of the time.
