Anyways, after the visual, order the right block. Your cards... off the top of my head will probably use the 6870 blocks, not the 6970 v1 or v2. Revised 6950 2gb cards typically use the 6870 pcb, SINCE that is the revised AMD reference design.

Revised AMD reference 6970 pcb uses the 6970 v2 block! Beware, do a VISUAL match before.
Great information there. That is how I will do it then.

After reading so many people complaining about the flaking I don't believe I will go with the nickel plating either. I may be in a pickle if my card will need a V.2 Ek block.. I can't find them in copper, only nickel. Blah. Are they made in copper?

Thanks everyone for the great information.

How is getting the copper version vs getting the nickel plating exposing the copper any different?

They both will have copper oxidization anyway.

I think the issue is that people have flaking nickel in their loops. So... no nickel no flaking.
