[Newegg] Open Box sale AGAIN - Page 108

I dont see why selling graphics cards and making a profit is any different to what car dealers do.

They buy cheap, and sell for a higher price...whats wrong with that?

If the card still has verifiable manufacture warranty and works as advertised, the seller can sell it for whatever they want. It's no different than a card that was bought by the original owner, both cards are sold as "used" second hand. New cards fail along with used/open box cards. A refurb or open box card was new at one point and then had problems. What's even more ironic is sometimes the vendor sends refurb/recert parts back to the customers for RMA that bought new.

Damaged or non-working refurbs can be set back to Newegg at no charge.I've done it before.
Good luck trying to send something back to a forum member for a refund.

It is fine to sell it at a higher price on a occasion, but if you are not a registered vendor and we catch members using OCN to strictly profit from it, then that is a problem.

hmm, so what about if i bought something super cheap, sold it not so cheap, but it still worked out much cheaper than to buy brand new, and the graphics card worked fine and was not been sold as a dud. Is that still not allowed?

Of course there is some wiggle room. I'll give you an example. Again this is just a example, nothing more.

Pretend you bought a MSI GTX 580 Lightning OB for 250 bucks.

If your intention is to sell it for 475 dollars on the forums, that may raise some eye brows. If you sell it at a more reasonable price of lets say 300-350, we will be more inclined to understand, and we take each sale as a case by case basis.

OCN is not eBay. We a community first and marketplace second. Access to marketplace forums is a privilege and not a right. If we think members are blatantly using OCN to profit from it, we will lay out penalties.

I bought an ASUS ML239H for $140ish shipped and it's great. It was brand new with the plastic still on the monitor. One weird thing is the jack where I plug in the power cable is loose. So if I were to move the wire, it would turn off randomly. Other than that, it's perfect. I can still use it since I don't touch the back of the monitor or move the wire much. Should I return it for a refund or just keep it? I'm scared it might get worse after a couple months.
