Need help disassembling an iProDrive external HDD

Thread Starter
I bought a 1TB iPro Drive about a year ago while it was on sale since I was running out of room on my other external. Anyways, I have found it to have horrible transfer speeds (like 10 MB/s) and I would just like to have this drive mounted in my computer in the hopes that I can unlock its full potential.

I have tried to open up the case many times but for the love of god, I just can't get the thing to open up. Has anyone else successfully managed to open one of these things up?

If the terabyte case is the same as the 500g case you should find a screw under the warranty sticker.

Then it you have the black box with a led on the top...

1- Unscrew all the screws (including the one in the back and the one under the warranty sticker).

2- In the side of the top cover, there is some square holes at ~2.25 inch from the back plate (and the second one from 1.75" from the front panel) on the hidden edges of the top cover. Just separate the side edges with a flat plastic plate to detect those square holes.

3- Use a flat metal plate of max 1/4" to pouch the hooks from each sides beginning by the back (there some teeth on the top of the cover who are inserted in the front panel) and the two other ones after (nearest the front panel). Avoid to use a flat screwdriver who will cause some marks on the edges of the cover. Remove the top cover until all the hooks has been unlocked (from the back to the front).

4- Slide the unscrewed hard drive to the front panel to disengage the serial ATA and power connector of the back of the drive.

5- When the serial ATA is unplugged, lift up the drive from the back, put the new drive by inserting in the reverse way you get out the old one.

6- Test it, and screw it. Replace the top panel by inserting the top teeth in the front panel first, and clip it.

Done!
