Going from WinMo 6.5 to Gingerbread 2.3 on my HD2 it just feels like it's more user friendly, there's also eye candy as well which I personally enjoy.

I just like it overall, smooth, fast, doesn't freeze up my phone every once a week.

Yeah, I forgot about that. I've seen it, and that is something the iPhone cannot do for sure. So +1 for that.

Too general. What info can you see on your lock or home screen that iPhone users cannot, cause I bet you lockinfo or another Cydia app has it covered.

Right now.. I have winamp ( rewind, play, next ), wordfued ( shortcut ), battery % on my lockscreen, as well as the stock unlock slider, and sound on/off slider ( puts phone on vibrate without unlocking )

The same iPod controls can be accessed from the lock screen, battery percentage can be turned on and seen from any screen, and the iPhone has a hardware mute toggle on the side.

Gestures can be assigned to launch any specific app, and lockinfo addons can be added to open specific things, but I'm not sure making shortcuts from the lockscreen yourself. I'd have to look into that.

Nothing in particular that anything does better. It is just nice having the customization options to do whatever I want to my phone. Put any widget ( there are lots ) anywhere. Android isn't for everybody, dont think i am trying to convince you it is.. I'm just stating my thoughts on the matter..

Side note, dont know if it matters to you. But iphone ( at least 3G ones ) dont do live email updates. Android can ( option for it ), and Blackberry does...* iphone 3G does not, Not sure about 4.

Let me shoot my buddy a text, see if his iphone does live email update.

That's just it, I'm wanting you to convince me. I'm trying to compare the two.

If by live email updates you mean push email, yes, iPhone can do that stock. I set up exchange through Google sync and get push email and calendar updates. I get it on my phone the moment it reaches Google's servers.

Yeah see I dont have an iphone, so I dont know EVERYTHING about it. what it can and cannot do. Only what my buddies have told me theirs can and cannot do. So I am misinformed about that, Sorry .. .. I know I was skeptical about android (ex blackberry user ) So I bought a cheap one to start out with, had a blast with it... Then got my Captivate...

Another thing my Captivate can do ( running CM7 ) is tethering without PDAnet or any 3rd party software..
