I LOVE whoever linked that netflix link! +REP to you! I was keeping up on that, and then just forgot.

So now it is pretty much battery life. Android Tablet just seems more useful..

It's like reducing the resolution on games to get better performance from a older graphics card.
I don't think media playback is implemented this way. For example on an older-gen phone like an HTC Hero, video files with higher resolutions cannot be played due to limitations in hardware. But an Atrix with its Tegra 2 chip can play back native 720p/1080p videos without really rendering it at a lower qHD resolution.

Have you looked at the ASUS Eee Slate EP121? Might be more than you need though.

Honestly, they nearly do the same thing. Just different ui's and apps. That's about it. Go with whatever you would prefer. But with the android tablet. I would use it for a good hour or so before you said yes. Get one of the non laggy ones with a good battery life and you are set.

Just remember that tasty ice cream sandwhich update might just not hit your device due to the manufactor. And that's why I don't like them. Fragmention.

Actually, Google is promising a mandatory update for all current-gen phones to the latest possible version within 18 months. And ICS is touted to be the version that will integrate Android devices, so I'm keeping my hopes up.

If only that is true. If the Tegra 2 can handle 720p/1080p mkv playback in native on a highres display. I'm sure Motorola or ASUS or Acer would have a solution for it (especially Motorola since they make the Atrix) but none of them do.

That's true. I hadn't even thought about it. If they can hold up that promise. Then it comes down to the user. If all the devices are getting the updates etc. Then the difference between the two becomes next to none. The iPad has the app store and the battery life. Android has the more custom ui and abilty to further customize it to your liking and is easier to root.

Tried 720p videos on my dad's Atrix, it works albeit somewhat laggy. So MKV may not be the best option for media playback; at least I can do 1080p on other formats like MP4 or WMV.

Get VPlayer, only player that can do it without lagging, tried them all.

I saw there should be some new Tabs coming out soon, the HTC Puccini, Galaxy Tab 10.1. Anyone have info on these? Release dates? Bootloaders? Anything? I couldn't find much but these, especially the Puccini look better then the transformer with a 1.5Ghz dual core processor, and HTCs promise to never lock the boot loader.

I will be leaving July 5th, so got to have it before then.
