Overclocking e5800?

hey im new here...and i wasn't sure where to post this since i see a lot of post about cooling i don't think this is the right place but i chose it since it says questions about overclocking...alright

main specs..

intel e5800 pentium dual core
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116385

gigabyte board
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128467

psu
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817702018

ram
2x4gb ripjaw 1600mhz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277

cpu cooler
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835114073

sapphire hd radeon 5830
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102878

so i heard these e5800 are basically overclocking beasts. and i was on a 700$ budget build and wanted intel... so i got this. anyway, my computer usually turns off (but not really, goes into stand by mode...i think) after i dont know how long of use, but everytime i wake up in the morning i find it off, and when i turn it back on it makes this beep noise thats really loud and obnoxious. but everything works perfectly, i made sure my ram is in place, my video card is in place, on full load overclocked to 1066mhz fsb from 800mhz and 3.2 ghz my temps are ~50c. which is fine...all of the games i play work on high/max settings. its that only beep thats kind of bugging me. any ideas to what this can be? oh and when i turn off my computer fully,(start- shut down) and i turn it back on, nothing happens it just turns on nicely. should i turn it off every night? i havent fully taken out my graphics card mainly becuase its a hassle but i think it works since it plays everything nicely..

sorry for the long post i just want this fixed.. thanks!

the computer beeps when it turns on to tell you everything is fine. its called a Post Code.

I think you can shut it off in the bios but there's no need. I turn mine off every night beacuse i can't sleep with the damn thing on. so its fine.

you can get a adapter that converts the 3 pin fan to the Molex connector. some fans come with them also.

Would have been much better off getting a Hyper 212 which is the same price, that hsf you got looks like a stock heat sync with a overpowered fan on it.

You would have been much better investing in the new platforms. 775 isn't worth building from scratch anymore.

I don't think its a new system, but he just wanted to know what he could do with what he already has.

yikes...hate to say it...but it is a new system...i3 was starting at 120$.. dont have money for that im only 16 lol. but uh.. i might upgrade around christmas idk. so how do i overclock this e5800? i oced it to 4ghz and the max temp was still around 55c. i ran prime95 for 5 minutes and it blue screened. how do people get up to around 4ghz with no problem? a review said he did it fine. is overclocking just heat related? becuase my mobo supports up to 1600 fsb. and my ram is 1600mhz but is running at 1333mhz.

edit: example of a review of the e5800.

"Stock cooler is TEENY WEENY TINY. At 4.2ghz at stock voltage, I idled at 48c and loaded at 78c. At stock 3.2ghz, I idled at 45c and loaded at 72c. Unacceptable. boart is a Gigabyte G41T-Combo."

howd he do that? lol

edit again : changed fsb to 1333mhz, max motherboard temp is 65c, cpu is around 57c max. 3.86ghz. not bad for how much i paid? seems stable, i still have to run prime95 for a night. do you guys think itll do fine? and for some reason i feel like im stressing the cpu leaving it like this even though the temps are fine. am i just panicking because i raised it so much?

You don't have a very good heat sync, that's why your not getting good temps.

i think my heat sync is fine. i only have 1 fan in my case, getting 2 more really nice ones. then will i be ok?

and whats wrong with my temps? whats a good max temp for my motherboard?

and what 120mm case fans do you guys recommend? i don't really care about LEDs, just cooling. i can spend up to about 15$ on a case fan. any ideas?
